My first round of friends who got married happened 9 years ago before sites like Azazie, Lulu’s, and Asos were a thing. Back then, you really only had David’s Bridal as an option for out-of-town bridesmaids. Needless to say, this was not a good option. The atmosphere in those stores, the limited color options, and the price were all bad news!
Fast forward to present day and there are much better options available now. These days you can order online and have dresses shipped right to you to try on. Here are the reasons why sites like Azazie are booming!
Color Options
With over 70 color options available, you’re sure to find the perfect shade you’re looking for! While the classic look of everyone in the same color is still popular, many brides are opting now for the ombré look where each bridesmaid wears a different shade of the same color family. You can order individual swatches or the book to choose the perfect shades.
Fabric Options
Azazie’s fabric choices include chiffon, lace, tulle, velvet, and sequin. You can mix and match these within your bridal party or choose 1 fabric for everyone. Just be careful, mixing and matching different fabrics in your group means there could be a little variation in the dye lots since fabrics take on dye differently, resulting in a little color variation.
Different Styles
Traditionally, the bridesmaids have all worn the same style dress in a matching color. But the variety of styles from Azazie has made it popular for each bridesmaid to wear their own style while still coordinating with everyone else. This is a great option for larger bridal parties who have a wide range of sizes, heights, and figures. This way, each bridesmaid gets to choose a style of dress that flatters her shape. After all, we all have a lot more fun in clothes we feel comfortable in! There are over 730 styles to choose from, from floor-length to mini and everything in between.
Quality + Price
Most styles range from $99-129 making this option much more reasonable for bridesmaids than past options that ran more like $350 each. And the quality on these dresses is much better than David’s Bridal options. I love ordering neutral colors and styles so I can keep them for future weddings or galas. The chiffon fabric even held up perfectly to alternations and a full day of events and dancing.
Try On Program
My absolute favorite thing about Azazie is their try-on program. You can select up to 3 dresses to be shipped to you to try on and see how they look. At the time of writing this, they’re $10 each. What you don’t like you can send back within 1 month without being charged for the dress. This is an excellent option for sisters like me that don’t fit the size norm! When I ordered, 1 of the dresses I wanted to try on was available in our group color, so I got to see what that looked like on me. The others were not available in our designated color, but I was just trying on the different styles anyway. This also helps you find the right size you need.
Our group mostly lived in the same area and was within a few sizes of each other. So we placed a try-on order and made a group thing of it. The bride ordered 3 different colors to see them in person and 3 of the most common sizes among our group. We all got to try on the different sizes and figure out which size we needed to order and see the colors with our skin tone. We also went to brunch, so that was fun!
Needless to say, I love the ease of the entire process and how seamless Azazie has made online ordering. They’ve taken all of the stressors out of the process and made it so simple. I recommend this company to all of my brides and they’ve all had a wonderful experience.
